Hi guys! Thanks for stopping by my blog. My name is Lisa, and I am a 27 year old living in Western New York. I am currently attending college full-time in hopes of earning an Associates Degree or two. I grew up and have lived most of my life in Batavia which is where the name “The Frugal Batavian” comes from.
I love searching for deals and finding ways to get free stuff. I can’t say I was always that way, but I was always frugal minded. I’m lucky in that I grew up one of those people who penny pinched for no other reason but to make sure I always had money saved for emergencies. But such as life.. because every time I saved up money, my car always needed more work to it, and there went my savings. Sigh.
I don’t think I fully realized the extend of where I could my “frugalness” until I watched my first episode of “Extreme Coupooning” last October. All I remember thinking was, “I can do that” and my confusing trip to learn how to coupon started from there. I created my first money saving website on October 4, 2011 in my image of trying to save money and find online deals. In the mean time, for the past few months I’ve been debating on creating more a of local website based on the Batavia area. It’s tough maintaining one website and keeping up with deals, let alone taking on a second website. But my heart was really set on wanting to dive in and do it. So, as a way to celebrate my other blogbeing up for a year, I finally purchased the domain name and started up this blog.
My goal for this blog is to find more local deals, especially in Genesee County, and in the surrounding Western New York area. I will also share some shopping scenarios for some local stores, as well as some online/offline deals I come across. I am hoping my blog will make someone’s life a little bit easier in learning how to coupon, finding some of the best deals locally, and maybe even help in saving someone some money.
